Bridge House Independent School

Sport (BTEC)

Our intent is to provide a Sport (BTEC) curriculum that is inclusive, broad, and balanced and ensures all children will benefit, whether this be through enhancing existing sporting skills, learning new skills, or being introduced to new sports, clubs, teams, and organisations.

Students will build on and embed the physical development and skills learned in Key Stages 1 - 3 demonstrating higher levels of competency, confidence, and expertise in their techniques, applying them across different sports and physical activities.

Pupils will understand what makes an effective performance and how to apply these principles to their own and others’ performances. Beyond the curriculum, we believe at Bridge House, that participation in sporting activity is a key element of developing their social, emotional, and mental health.
